I would like to thank Rick for his invaluable help, Ken for the panel, Aaron for allowing me to use his sounds, all the guys over at the Classic British Aircraft forum for thier support and kind words, and my missus for allowing me to spend countless hours on the PC ;).

Simply place the Skyvan folder in your FS9/Aircraft folder, thats it, to remove just delete the Skyvan folder, simple.

Thanks for downloading my first FS model, it was started as a lesson in FSDS, and I was quite happy with the result, and this is the fruits of my labour.

The model was created in FDSD2, over the last 6 months, it has been a massive learning curve for me, and Rick Piper has been kind enough to help me out through out the models development, I am positive that without his help I would have never finished it.

This release does not contain a VC, frankly I don't think my skills are up to a decent VC as yet, and I do not like rough VC's, so made the decision to leave it out this time.

The Skyvan will be updated to include the Skyliner PAX version, hopefully this release will contain a VC.

The Skyvan is a STOL twin prop utility plane, used for Cargo, Passenger and Parachuters, it was produced by Shorts Bros in Belfast, Northern Ireland, 155 units in total were made and were used all around the world.

This is my first model, if you like it please use it, if not, please delete it.

Cargo door is opened using Shift & E

There is a short video showing the Skyvan taking off and landing at Portland Navy in the UK, from this you can see its STOL performance.

Flying the Skyvan.

Takeoff.

BE AWARE, the default setting in FS is for 4000lbs for cargo, this is a large amount of cargo for such a small plane, and as such STOL performance will be severely limited with such cargo, either reduce cargo load for STOL or reduce fuel load

Flaps are normally set at 18DEG for takeoff (30DEG for STOL)
Full Props, Full Throttle
Rotate at 70KIAS.

Climb.

Torque 98%
Props full
Maintain 80KIAS, then adjust pitch to give 120KIAS Climb

Cruise.

Set power to maintain 160KIAS @ FL100
Range at FL100 cruise, approx 600nm

Descent

Do not exceed 190KIAS

Landing.

landing performed using full (50DEG) flaps
Vref 60-70KIAS depending on wieght.
